Talent Scout for Philadelphia with Vip Talent Connect & Alycia Kaback

July 25th 2011

This week at VIP Talent Connect & Alycia Kaback we answer the question how do I become a talent scout? All the major agencies from Ford Model Management and Elite find new talent by hiring talent scouts. Talent Scouts work in New York, Miami, London all over the world.  In the music business, the talent scout is part of the Artists and Repertoire division of the record label. Their job is to find new talent and bring them to the company. Get started by scouting out talent where you are and perhaps even forwarding that information to a targeted person within an A & R department of a label. Make sure you have an agreement with the talent so that you’re not cut out completely. In this business it’s definitely who you know that matters.

What I do in my job as a Model Scout is look for potential model talent. Some models are Runway Models and need to be tall & thin, but most are regular sized people like you & me who have attractive features and are usually height/weight proportionate. Print models can be any shape & size depending on which catalogues are looking for talent. Promotional models usually appear at events and do public appearances.

What I like most about my job is the look on someone’s face when I ask, “Have you ever considered Modeling?” Most women & men never think their dreams could be realized in a few, short moments. I love to help people get where they want to be and to keep them motivated along the path of their dreams!

Now, I want to say that Modeling is a challenging career that is NOT like the movies and NOT just hanging around wearing nice clothes. It takes dedication and responsibility to be in a high pressure career such as Modeling.

I love my job and wouldn’t trade it for anything! From VIP Talent Connect and Alycia Kaback, we hope this answers your question.

  7. Im currently working for Alycia and have been doin so for the last 3 weeks, and I have had my doubts and worries at first. Everything I have read about the success of the company it is so true. I orginally went in thinking that I would like to apply for an office admin posistion so imagine to my surprise how much I enjoy being a talent scout. I have not looked back for a second! This is a fast industry and I love that. Also there are so many more offices that they are opening. I can say I have met Alycia Kaback, and I have spoken to the models, and people who have gotten work which was important to me as a good friend many years back paid alot of money to a modeling school. They honestly are getting people these gigs with top shows, and they do make these connections. Thanks! I love my job!

  10. A scout brought my daughter Linda in for an interview and she has been working only once or twice a month in NYC. she booked a catalog for the GAP and stuff. I was just wondering shouldnt models work more. Not everyday but at least once or twice a week not a month. Do you think I was scammed?

  15. I just wanted to thank Alycia and Nicole once again – the show was wonderful and I just signed my contract with Terry and am already booked for a Microsoft commercial – so exciting!!

  16. I didn’t have a opportunity to thank you the other day, I am really glad my person got signed. I wanted to say he has been doing great and sent me a gift certificate to Morton’s in AC. Imagine that – I hope when he gets his first Award he invites me also. :) Thanks once again Alycia and looking forward to seeing you in NYC at the next event.

  17. I have an interview tomorrow at the Feasterville office….I actually had a great conversation with Alycia Kaback when I met her at the Philadelphia Art Museum, we were both their for a fundraiser. She was very inspirational and has a amazing idea in working to help improve the education system here in the United States. I have a desire and passion for this industry and I want a career in this field.

  18. I am not one for writing letters, but my most recent experience at the VIP Talent Connect was worthy of doing so. The VIP Talent Connect Summit was a “Great” experience for me and anyone who wants to make a difference in their lives and others. I was deeply touched by so many amazing, talented and established entertainers who came together as one big family to shape and mold the up and coming entertainers of tomorrow. Throughout the seminar there were several brilliant quotes stated such as: “stand out from the rest, be natural, be real”, “don’t give up, be prepared”, “be authentic, and make it your own”. The quote that caught my attention and stuck with me was “take risk, there is more than one way to get in”, “NO DON’T ALWAYS MEAN NO, JUST NOT NOW”, was stated by: Mr. Stephen DeAngelelis, who has cast over 3000 network television and radio commercial.

The seminar was very informative, and uplifting. I recommend the VIP Talent Connect to anyone who dares to take a bite of success, it was truly amazing!!!

    Thank You,

    Kim MR
